I'm a Coloradan. I was born in Denver, raised near Chicago, and returned to Colorado for university. We built a home high up in the mountains and lived off the grid in a geodesic dome for 10 lovely years. I'm a nature lover through and through. I'm also a devoted wife, mother and traveler who loves to learn about new cultures.
Reflecting upon my life and careers to date, I found myself thinking back to what my dreams were as a child. There were many: to be an underwater archaeologist, a singer, a parapsychologist…. but my earliest answer to the question, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” was ‘a helper.’ I realize now, that mainly, that’s what I’ve done. As an educator, an instructional designer, a writer, a neuropsychology psychometrician, a Peace Corps volunteer, an entrepreneur and an NPO manager, I have always sought to help others whether they were my colleagues, my clients or members of my community. My volunteering, work as an educator and entrepreneurial endeavors have left me with a number of skills and insights.
